ORCHARD PARK, NY- Its over. BIlls drop their second straight game. They are 4 & 4 on the season. Tom Brady is too much for them in a 41-25 loss.
Jonathan Williams runs one yard for the touchdown. That will make this game look a little better on the scoreboard but don't be fooled. The Bills needed the defense to be elite against Tom Brady and they weren't. Bills trail 41-25 after the two point conversion is good. EJ Manuel to Nick O'Leary.
The Patriots take a pass interference penalty in the end zone. First and goal Bills at the New England one yard line.
-Manuel with a long completion to Walter Powell who takes a big hit. Its a 35 yard completion.
EJ Manuel replaces Tyrod Taylor at quarterback for the Bills.
Zach Brown sacks Jimmy Garoppolo who has replaced Tom Brady. The only thing left to be determined is the final score but this one has been over for awhile.
The Bills have moved the ball downfield and have challenged the spot on a fourth day play that was ruled short. The Bills lose the challenge and turn it over on downs.
Marcell Dareus sacks Tom Brady. The Patriots settle for a field goal and lead 41-17.
Stephon Gilmore is called for holding that turns an incompletion into a first down for the Patriots.
4th quarter-Rob Gronkowski with the catch for a gain of 31 yards. Many coming after the catch as the Patriots are on the move again.
Aftter the sack Lawson is called for roughing the passer. He hit Brady after the ball was gone. Shaq Lawson gets Tom Brady for his first career sack. That's a pretty good place to start.
The Bills will start the quarter with a fourth and goal from the Patriots 10 yard line trailing 38-17. The pass is off the hand of Charles Clay. Patriots ball at their own 10 yard line.
Reggie Bush with the backwards pass when the Bills are at the Patriots 6 yard line. Tyrod Taylor fell on the ball. Robert Woods with 3 catches on this drive. Brandon Tate the Bills say is in the concussion protocol so he's done for the day.
Nickell Robey-Coleman with a late hit and add that to the Patriots first down and the Patriots are in business again. Helps set up the LeGarrett Blount one yard touchdown run. The Patriots lead 38-17 with 3:05 left in the third quarter. The Patriots are too good for the defense to give them any help by taking penalties.
On third and 5 Tom Brady runs 15 yards for the first down.
Taylor's pass in end zone for Walter Powell is incomplete. The Bills go for it on 4th and 3 and Taylor runs for the 26 yard touchdown. Patriots lead it 31-17 with 7:57 left in the third quarter.
Charles Clay is back in the game and makes a catch good for four yards.
3rd quarter- Brandon Tate leaves the field with the trainers.
The Bills simply do not have the offensive firepower to stay with the Patriots but do get a big break when Colton Schmidt has trouble with the snap on the punt, twice, and then he runs 16 yards for a first down.
Danny Amendola takes the second half kickoff 73 yards and the Patriots are in business right away. Two plays later Tom Brady find Julien Edelman for the touchdown. The Patriots take a 31-10 lead.
The Patriots will attempt a 51 yard field goal on the final play of the first half. They got the ball back with less than 30 seconds left. They move downfield and add a field goal as the half ends. 24-10 Patriots.
The Bills offense stalls and they settle for the Dan Carpenter field goal try from 49 yards out. It hit the right upright and is no good.
The Patriots intercept the Bills pass but the play is wiped out by two penalties. The ball is at the New England 31 yard line.
The Bills convert the first down and then try to hit Justin Hunter deep. That pass is incomplete.
-A t the 2 minute warning the Patriots lead the Bills 21-10. The Bills have a 3rd and 6 at their own 45 yard line.
-Mike Gillislee gains 16 yards. On the play Eric Wood takes a holding penalty.
Brady connects with Rob Gronkowski for the 53 yard touchdown. Patriots lead 21to 10. It didn't them long to answer the Bills touchdown. Brady connects with Chris Hogan for a first down. Gain of 19.
The Bills announce that Charles Clay is getting his shoulder looked out. The Bills really can't afford any more injuries to key performers on offense.
2nd Quarter: Mike Gillislee scores from 3 yards out and the Bills trail the Patriots 14-10 with 6:26 left in the first half. The Patriots really helped out with a couple of huge penalties.
Taylor's pass for Hunter is incomplete but the Patriots are flagged for pass interference. The Bills have a first down at the Patriots 32. Then Taylor connects with Reggie Bush and the Bills have a first and goal at the New England 7. The Patriots take their first time out of the half.
Tyrod Taylor is getting good pass protection but the Bills are unable to connect on many pass plays. Taylor throws downfield for Charles Clay but the pass is incomplete and Clay walks slowly off the field with a couple of trainers.
The Bills defense forces a 3 and out for the Patriots. Preston Brown sacks Brady on third down. The Bills defense right now is keeping the Bills in this game. They need something from the offense.
Back to back penalties have put the Bills in a 3rd and 24 holes at their own 30 yard line. The Bills cannot convert on third and long and will punt the ball away.
The Bills have a completion for another first down wiped out by a penalty. Illegal formation. Taylor connects with Justin Hunter for a first down. The Bills first first down since the opening drive of the game.
The Bills defense stiffens and force a three and out for the Patriots. Kyle Williams sacks Brady for a loss of 7 on the last play of the drive. The Patriots are now 5 out of 6 on third down. That was the first down the Patriots did not convert.
1st Quarter: The Bills with a strong opening drive but they burn their first time out and wind up settling for a Dan Carpenter 23 yard field goal. Mike Gillislee with a gain of 28 yards one of the big plays of the drive. The Bills had a first and goal at the Patriots 6 and could not punch it in. Against this team that could really cost you. Bills lead 3-0.
Patriots convert on a 3rd and 6 to keep their drive alive. The Bills defense needs to find a way to get off the field. Julian Edelman on the reverse is stopped for no gain. Its another 3rd down for the Patriots offense. Once again the Patriots convert this time on 3rd and 10 as Brady finds Chris Hogan for a 16 yard gain. For the third time the Patriots convert a third down, this time a 3rd and 2 and the Patriots gain 10 on the completion to Edelman. For the fourth straight third down on this drive the Patriots convert and this time its a touchdown. 9 yards from Tom Brady to Danny Amendola and its 7-3 Paatriots with 4:35 remaining in the first quarter.
Bills return kickoff and there's a penalty of them so the drive start is at their own 7 yard line. The Bills go 3 and out. Two of Tyrod Taylor's passes should have been caught. One by Charles Clay the other by Brandon Tate.
The Bills got one break on a 3rd and 8 when the Patriots were called for an ineligible man downfield. It wiped out a huge gain to the Bills one yard line. On the very next play, 3rd and 13 Tom Brady connected with Chris Hogan for the 53 yard touchdown. There was a blown coverage by the Bills. 14-3 Patriots. Patriots are 5 for 5 on third down.
The Bills go 3 and out as the first quarter comes to an end. Since that opening drive the Bills have done nothing offensively and have seen the Patriots put together two long touchdown drives.
The Bills inactives are out. Running back LeSean McCoy will sit out Sunday's game against the Patriots. He will be joined on the sidelines by safety Aaron Williams, victim of a vicious hit by Jarvis Landry last Sunday in Miami.
