The following are Dick Gallagher's observations after week 7 of high school football:

Orchard Park is not the Quakers as in the past and are struggling entering the playoffs.

Williamsville North rebounded with a win over Lockport with JR Marquell Well rushing for over 200 yards, Spartans need to play 48 minutes if they are going to defeat the Quakers.

Niagara Falls will be a sleeper team in the Class AA playoffs. Tremendous athleticism and talent on the Wolverines team.

North Tonawanda with its size and ability to control the clock will be a tough opponent in the playoffs if the Jacks play the entire 48 minutes and finish games.

Iroquois can be a sleeper in Class A playoffs.

Bennett is a different team with Derek Bishop at QB. Opponents will need to bring their “A” game if they are to compete with the Tigers.

Class B is up for grabs and will include a couple of upsets in the playoffs. Will Olean and Starpoint continue to be unbeaten?

The Class C playoff goes through Cleveland Hill and the Class D playoff goes through Maple Grove. The Thunder Dragons are looking to play in their 6th consecutive sectional title and compete for a state championship.

Canisius looks like the favorite to win the MSGR Martin championship and compete for a state title.

City of Buffalo schools will have at least one team in a sectional title game.
