Any team that plays Cleveland Hill in the playoffs better be prepared to play smash mouth football.

Lancaster is the real deal and if they avoid penalties and turnovers, the Legends will be the favorite in Class AA playoffs.

Marauders of Dunkirk will be a difficult opponent in the Class B playoffs.

Maple Grove is a machine with Brad Bendon, Dalton DuBois, and Trevor Micek leading the Red Dragons. Appears they could play Clyde-Savannah in the state quarterfinals if they win the sectionals.

Nice to see Jerry Hickson, St. Francis breaking Joe’s Licata’s Williamsville South record. Both are Class Acts and a credit to the game.

Iroquois matchup Friday with South Park will have major playoff implications. The Chiefs upset the Trojans and lost by a point to Cheektowaga. If the Chiefs win, it is possible for the Sparks to be out of the playoffs.

McKinley will be a tough playoff opponent for any team in Class A. Miles Haynes and Kaiyer Fields are excellent players with non-stop motors.

Have to give credit to Starpoint. The Spartans won close games over the Jacks and Billies. Giving up 37 points to South might be a flag when they are playing teams from Class A South.

It will be interesting to see how long Olean will last in the playoffs. Phil Vecchio has done an excellent job and Garrett Boldt is a stud athlete.

Springville is the Jackyl and Hyde team. Never know what the Griffiths team will show up. Loss of their sophomore MLB hurt big time.

Jacks lsot to Grand Island and Starpoint in games they should have won. Should be a difficult opponent if they finish games and play 48 minutes.

Congrats to Canisius with their win over Cardinal Mooney (4-1 before Crusader game). Offense is averaging 46 points and defense allowing 11 points a game. Hoose and Burniston anchor a physical defense. Should win Msgr. Martin title.

Timon/St. Joe’s game – What should have been an excellent contest between 2 Catholic school teams was spoiled by un sportsmanship play that started the altercation. If Chad Kelly would have stayed off the field, there wouldn’t have been all the media hype. Have to wait to see the report when it is submitted to Msgr. Martin executive director.

Williamsville North started strong but have only a 3-3 record. Connor Kelly is a double digit tackling machine but offense continues to struggle.

Niagara Falls is a surprise and playing well on both sides of the ball. IT will be a tough matchup in the playoffs.

Josh Dahl, Orchard Park senior RB, has rushed for 718 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Quakers this season.

Tommy Matison, Albion senior RB, has rushed for 1048 yards and 11 touchdowns in 6 games for the Purple Eagles.

David Fluellen, former Lockport and Toldo star, is on the practice squad for the Tennessee Titans in the NFL.

Glenn Grownkowski, former All-WNY and All-State from Williamsville North is on the practice squad for the New England Patriots.

Ryan Mansell, Lancaster junior QB, has completed 65/100 for 1216 yards and 14 touchdowns while LG Castillo junior WR has caught 22 passes for 560 yards. Zach Samborski, senior RB, has carried the ball 92 times for 639 yards. Max Giordano, senior WR, has caught 25 passes for 396 yards and 6 touchdowns to lead the Legends explosive offense which is averaging 46.3 points a game.

Zane Johnson, Grand Island senior WR, has caught 21 passes for 378 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Vikings this season.

JB Wilkes, Grand Island senior DE, has recorded 45 tackles, including 6 sacks and 9 TFL this season.
