BUFFALO- The Buffalo Bisons are still searching for their first win of the home stand, after losing to the Durham Bulls, 3-1, on Tuesday at Coca-Cola Field.

For the second game in a row, the Bisons found themselves facing a deficit after just the first inning. Durham started the game with two quick singles followed by a two-run double by Bulls' Johnny Field to grab a 2-0 lead.

Luis Santos made his 16th start of the year for the Bisons. After allowing two runs in the first, Santos managed to settle down in the second and third. However, the right-hander was replaced after just three innings with a blister on his throwing hand. He yielded two runs on three hits with two strikeouts. The loss was charged to Santos, moving his season record to 3-9.

Nick Tepesch and Rob Refsnyder both made their debut for the Herd Tuesday night. Tepesch came on in the fourth to toss two innings allowing a run on three hits and striking out three batters. Refsnyder in the DH spot went 1-3 with an infield single and a walk.

Down three in the eighth, Jake Elmore reached with a walk to give the Bisons a one-out base runner. Shane Opitz with one of the two Buffalo hits stepped to the plate and doubled to the corner in left allowing Elmore to come all the way around and score. The double was the second of the game for Opitz and made it a 3-1 game in the eighth.

Buffalo will look to wake up the bats for game three of four against the Bulls Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Bisons Notes: Shane Opitz went 2-3 with two doubles and drove in the only Buffalo run of the game.
