With an audience around the country and across the globe watching, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump explained a video of him making multiple off-color remarks about woman was "locker room talk".

The video, unearthed Friday, prompted several GOP lawmakers including 2008 party White House nominee John McCain to withdraw their support for Trump. At the second presidential debate in St. Louis tonight, Trump explained his behavior in the video.

DONALD TRUMP: “This was locker room talk. I’m not proud of it. I apologized to my family. I apologized to the American people. Certainly, I’m not proud of it, but this is locker room talk.”

ANDERSON COOPER: “Just for the record though, are you saying what you said on that bus eleven years ago…you did not actually kiss women without consent or grope women without consent?”

DONALD TRUMP: “I have great respect for women. Nobody has more respect for women than I do. I said things that frankly you hear…you hear these things said and I was embarrassed by it. But I have tremendous respect for women and women have respect for me.”

Trump would eventually answer the question whether he did the things he described on the videotape: "No. I have not," he said.
