PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland-based advertising firm Wieden+Kennedy decided to make a political statement in Pioneer Courthouse Square – with some baloney sandwiches.

The company brought a gold-and-black food cart to the downtown gathering spot, decorated to resemble Trump Tower.

“There’s a new food truck in town,” Wieden+Kennedy tweeted Friday afternoon. “It’s specialty: BS.”

Sandwiches included the “Middle-Class Hero,” the “Border-Security Hero” and the “Tell-it-like-it-is Hero.” Sandwiches - all of which were a piece of baloney on white bread - came wrapped in gold paper with a statement about the Republican presidential candidate.

"At Wieden+Kennedy, we pride ourselves on being a place where we can be our true selves regardless of our beliefs and backgrounds. That applies to political affiliation,” a spokesperson for the company said. “As a creative company, we strive to make work that is culturally relevant and lives in many places. This metaphor is intended to be a light-hearted and theatrical creative expression of Trump's candidacy.”

The company was promoting the truck with the hashtag #trumpservesbs.

A long line of people lined up for free sandwiches Friday afternoon. If you missed it, the cart will also be open Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

There are no plans for a similar Hillary Clinton-themed stunt, a spokesperson said.
