TEMECULA, CA-- Police in California are working to sort out the details of a case of road rage.

It happened Tuesday morning at a grocery store in the City of Temecula.

Witnesses and police say a man started acting erratically while arguing with his girlfriend. He then allegedly grabbed his crying girlfriend and fought with her, wrestling her to the ground.

Bystanders stepped in to stop the confrontation. That's when witnesses say the driver tried to run over those who intervene.

Video shows the crowd responded by trying to smash the man's windows to stop him, but he then appears to hit a woman who had already fallen on the ground.

While the bystanders were unable to stop him, they did slow down the man enough so that police could catch up with him. He was arrested moments after the video was shot.
