Woman killed after getting dragged underneath car in North Tonawanda

A fatal motor vehicle occurred Thursday night in North Tonawanda.

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A 48-year-old woman was killed Thursday night after a tragic accident in the City of North Tonawanda.

According to North Tonawanda Police Captain Thomas Krantz, the woman's vehicle got stuck in a snowbank in an alleyway off of Oliver Street. In an attempt to get unstuck, the woman had her 10-year-old daughter get in the driver's seat as the woman tried to push the car out. The 10-year-old girl accidently hit the accelerator and hit her mother, dragging the woman underneath the car.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene

Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
