BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Erie County Sheriff's Office says a 20-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly putting 11 cherry bomb firecrackers around the Rath Building on Friday.
A county employee noticed some of the firecrackers being placed near a trash can outside the Franklin Street building on Friday at about 3 p.m. The employee reported this to Erie County Sheriff's Deputies.
The sheriff's office Bomb Squad and a K-9 team trained to detect explosives responded to the scene.
Deputies found the suspect, Sarah Sinopoli, 20, of Buffalo. Deputies say she admitted to placing the fireworks around the building and told them where they could find them.
Sinopoli faces charges of felony Criminal Mischief and a misdemeanor count of Reckless Endangerment. She is also charged with disorderly conduct, a violation. Sinopoli is at the Erie County Holding Center and she will be arraigned.
