BUFFALO, N.Y. - Representatives of USA Hockey will join Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula for an afternoon news conference detailing the 2018 World Juniors which will be held in Buffalo.

A source tells 2 On Your Side that today's 4 p.m. news conference at Key Bank Center will detail the specifics of the tournament and give more details about an outdoor game at New Era Field.

Sabres Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart will also be at today's announcement which will be televised live on the NHL network.

In early December 2015, Terry Pegula was joined by Bills head coach Rex Ryan, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, and others as they announced at the former Ralph Wilson Stadium that the 2018 World Juniors would be held in Western New York. The outdoor game will be a first for the World Juniors tournament, and it was announced in 2015 that it will most likely be a preliminary USA vs. Canada matchup.
