BUFFALO, N.Y.-- Local restaurateur and philanthropist, Russell J. Salvatore, gave a major gift to Sisters of Charity Hospital Monday.

In an effort to continue to give back to the community that made him a success, Salvatore donated $250,000 to the hospital to improve room amenities and make things a bit more comfortable for patients staying there.

Specifically, the hospital will be using the money to upgrade 250 televisions in patient rooms, family waiting rooms, and other public areas.

When asked why he did it, Salvatore said, "They're sick and somebody's gotta give them something nice to watch. [A] hospital's not the finest place to be in, but my televisions make you feel healthy and I wanna wish them all the luck, so I love doing it."

The upgrades will happen at the hospital's Main Street and St. Joseph Campuses.
