BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo Police are investigating tire slashings involving dozens of vehicles in the city's west side.

Police say about 50 vehicles had tires slashed in the Richmond Ave, Bird Ave, Baynes Street and Manchester Place areas. They also say they believe the slashings happened Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Saturday, detectives went door to door and canvassed the area for any information that may be available about the crime. Additional patrols have also been added to the areas involved.

Residents in the area who see anything suspicious are also asked to call 911 immediately.
