ORCHARD PARK, NY-- Orchard Park Police say a town resident was allegedly so drunk when they arrested her that they were unable to give her a field sobriety test.

Police got a call of a reckless driver on Abbott Rd. near New Era Field shortly after 11:30 Friday morning. O.P. Officer Lazarz, as well as another driver, tried to get Karen Kaitanowski, of Lehigh Dr. to pull over. After Kaitanowski slowly drove through a red light, Officer Lazarz managed to reach into her car, grab the steering wheel and put it in park.

Police say Kaitanowski needed help removing her seatbelt and fell to the ground after getting out of her car and had to be picked up by officers and carried to a patrol car. She did submit to a breath test back at the police station where her BAC registered a. 34. While being searched, two un-opened mini bottles of vodka were found in her bra along with another in her purse.

Kaitanowski is charged with DWI, having an open container of alcohol and numerous traffic charges. She was released to a family member and is due back in court next week.
