BUFFALO, NY - The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation Board of Directors approved plans Monday for two new buildings at Canalside.
The buildings, called the Pavilion and Union Block Building, are part of the Canalside Interpretive Structures Project which attempts to recreate the look of buildings that once existed on the site.
The plans call for the two new building to be built along the Commercial Slip. Both buildings will have public restrooms, event space, and food and beverages.
With the plans approved, the ECHDC Board now needs to approve contracts for construction of the $12 million project. Groundbreaking is expected in the Fall of 2018 with construction completed in 2019.
