BUFFALO, NY -- The 15th Anniversary Susan G. Komen Western New York Race for the Cure is Saturday.
About 3,600 people are expected to join in the fight against breast cancer by participating in the 5K walk and run or the 1-mile fun walk.
People can still register on race day at the Marcy Casino starting at 7 a.m.
Activities and registration being at 7 a.m. The survivor parade will start at 9:15 a.m. and the race at 10 a.m.
The race starts at Delaware Park Rose Garden, Lincoln Parkway. The route goes through the Elmwood Village area and over a dozen roads will be closed. You can see the full route below.
This event raises funds for grants to breast health and breast cancer programs in Western New York. Money raised from the event go to the Komen National Research Grants program and to funding for local breast-health education, screening and treatment programs for under-served populations.
