CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Deputy Lundberg may have been off duty, but he still stepped up to help save a life Wednesday, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office.

Lundberg was working out at a gym in Cheektowaga when he noticed another man working out collapsed, and became unresponsive.

Lundberg quickly responded, performing CPR on the man and he also used an AED to help revive him.

By the time emergency medical responders arrived on the scene, the man who had passed out was responsive with a steady heart beat.

This isn't the first time Lundberg has been recognized for his life-saving actions.

In March 2016, he was spotlighted when his K-9 found a lost, autistic teen.

And during his first week on the job in November 2014, an Erie County Sheriff's Office spokesperson says Lundberg was one of the deputies responsible for using an AED to bring back a man's heartbeat after he passed out at Julie's Pizzeria and Restaurant in Springville.
