NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - Niagara Falls is a city with a population of over 50,000, but it is a city that is financially poor. A financial restructuring board for local governments report offered suggestions for sharing services as a way of saving money.

Falls Mayor Paul Dyster said on Monday, "we're talking to Niagara County about possible shared services."

On Tuesday, 2 On Your Side's Claudine Ewing went straight to the Niagara County Manager, Richard Updegrove, about the issue. He said he's had discussions with the Mayor, but nothing concrete.

"We're willing to do whatever we can to help the city of Niagara Falls but we have our own constraint," Updegrove said.

The report suggested sharing services with Niagara County, merging city departments and workforce policy changes.
