YOUNGSTOWN, NY — The body of an unknown man was recovered from the lower Niagara River Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office responded to a call reporting a possible body in the river along the coastline in the area of 135 Main Street in Youngstown.
The Sheriff's Office says the U.S. Coast Guard was able to locate the body of the unknown white male, and bring him to shore.
The incident remains under investigation by The Niagara County Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Bureau.
