Manna @ Northland opens on Buffalo's East Side

Manna @ Northland officially opened Monday morning in the Northland Workforce Training Center.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo's East Side welcomed a new restaurant on Monday.

Manna @ Northland officially opened Monday morning in the Northland Workforce Training Center, in the space where soul food favorite Gigi's previously occupied. Gigi's opened earlier this year then closed within weeks because they couldn't keep up with demand.

The new spot is run by longtime Emerson School teacher Tina Grant-Holt and chefs Dale Holt and Reginald Ingram, and they say they're here to stay.

"Roots of Buffalo are very strong," said Dale Holt. "We're not going nowhere. We're going to be here because we're going to have an impact with good food, good atmosphere, great gospel and jazz once a month."

The restaurant offers soul food, vegetarian options, and what they refer to as a "global menu." Manna is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
