BUFFALO, N.Y. -- While there has been criticism of changes made to Buffalo's annual, Galbani Italian Festival, the event still drew around 50,000 people, festival organizers say.
They also say it ranks as the largest event the Outer Harbor has seen to date.
There were many changes to the event this year. Festival organizers said it had "outgrown" it's Hertel Avenue location, which is why it moved to Buffalo's Outer Harbor for the first time.
In addition, for the first time there was a $5 fee for those 13 and up to get into the festival during peak times. Seniors ages 62 and up only had to pay a $2 fee and veterans and children 12 and under were admitted for free.
