NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A Niagara Falls man has died after his go-kart collided with automobile Saturday afternoon, police say.

According to police, around 2:45 p.m. the 34-year-old man was driving a high-performance type go-kart heading west on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls, when the go-kart spun around into the eastbound lane and hit a Chevrolet Volt.

The go-kart and its driver became stuck under the Volt.

Niagara Falls Fire Department and AMR Ambulance crews responded to the scene. The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. HIs name has not been released.

The driver of the Volt will not be charged, according to Niagara Falls Police.

NFPD Crash Management Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
