BUFFALO, N.Y. -- In Buffalo, people had to deal with quite a mess Thursday at the Marine Drive Apartments near Canalside.

A few apartments on the second floor flooded after water came up from the sinks because of a blocked drain and overflow from the rain.

One of the apartments flooded all the way back to the bedrooms. 2 On Your Side reached out to the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, BMHA, an agency 2 On Your Side's Dave McKinely recently contacted regarding complaints from Marine Drive residents about other issues in the apartments.

"We think that by tomorrow, the apartment will be clean," said Modesto Candelario, Assistant Exec. Director of the BMHA. "We're going to assess the damage and make sure that we compensate the resident for damages to the apartment and try to bring everything to normal as soon as possible."

The BMHA says sewer back-ups have happened there before, but this was from the water coming down through a roof drain, which they say is a completely different issue.
