BUFFALO, NY-A former Buffalo police officer is facing a possible year in prison after his guilty plea Thursday to a federal civil rights charge.

Greg Kwiatkowski, 52, was charged following an incident from May 2009. The U.S. Attorney's office says the ex-cop was working an overnight shift back in May, 2009 when he used 'unlawful and unreasonable force' on a teenager during a traffic stop with Cheektowaga Police.

Kwiatkowski also faces a possible fine of $100,000 when sentenced on a date to be determined by U.S. District Court Judge William Skretny.
