An elderly man is dead following an overnight fire on Carey Pl. in Jamestown.

JAMESTOWN, NY-An elderly man lost his life in an overnight fire in Jamestown.

Lt. Tim Glenn tells 2 On Your Side a neighbor made the emergency call to report a house on Carey Pl. was on fire and that someone may be inside.

When crews arrived, they found flames shooting out of the back of the house on the 2nd floor. Firefighters were able to make their way inside and found and rescued Patrick Reilly, 74, from the second floor. He was rushed to WCA Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Lt. Glenn says two space heaters were found in a TV room on the second floor and it was determined that combustibles too close to those heaters started the fire.
