ELBA, N.Y. -- A bank in a Genesee County village was robbed Tuesday by men in masks, deputies say.

The robbery happened at about 2:35 p.m. at the Elba M&T Bank on Oak Road.

The two men involved wore face masks, gloves and dark-colored hoodies. They were caught on security cameras and both had guns, deputies said. They fled after they made off with an unknown amount of money.

Police say the two fled the scene in a car that turned out to be stolen with stolen plates. It was found abandoned not far from the bank.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police and the FBI are continuing to investigate.
