ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A Blasdell man with 36 suspensions on his license, is facing driving-while-ability-impaired (DWAI) charges after Orchard Park Police found him passed out behind the wheel.
Twenty-five-year-old Tyler M. Melisz was found by officers unresponsive and holding up traffic on Southwestern Boulevard around 7 p.m. Sunday. After officers woke him up, they administered field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Officers later found white powder in small plastic baggy, believed to be heroin, in his vehicle along with a hypodermic needle.
Melisz was charged with DWAI-drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.
He was arraigned in Orchard Park Town Court and was released without bail.
He will reappear in court at a later date.
