BUFFALO, NY - When Don Tequila's and three other popular Mexican restaurants were raided and shut down last month, people were left wondering if and when they would reopen. The owner plans to reopen Don Tequila's Mexican Restaurant on Allen Street in December.

"We're hoping to open Don Tequila's the second week of December. We're doing some changes to the kitchen, that was taking a little bit longer than we thought, but we think second week of December we'll be able to open," said Sergio Mucino, the owner.

The federal raid was over the use of undocumented workers from Mexico and other countries. The owner was accused of earning about $50,000 a week at each restaurant, but failing to pay taxes.

The restaurant's authentic Mexican food is a big draw.

He has no date for the reopening of Agave and El Agave. Mucino wants to make sure he has a properly trained staff before those two establishments reopen.

La Divina on Delaware in Kenmore reopened a few weeks ago.
