BUFFALO, NY -- The Diocese of Buffalo celebrated MLK Day a day early Sunday, with a special mass dedicated to the late civil rights leader.
The mass was celebrated by Bishop Richard Malone at Saints Columba and Brigid Church in Buffalo.
The service also welcomed Deacon LeRoy Gill Jr., of the Archdiocese of Chicago, as guest homilist.
Deacon Gill has been addressing the issue of violence for over 8 years, after becoming Chair of the Black Catholic Deacons of Chicago.
