BUFFALO, NY-- Deputies and nurses at the Erie County Holding are credited with saving the life of an inmate who attempted suicide.
Officials say that an inmate used blades from a jail-issued razor to cut their arms in an effort to commit suicide.
Deputies Breinlinger and Insalaco heard commotion coming from one of the cell blocks and found the inmate bleeding heavily. The deputies and nurses treated the inmate until first responders could transport the inmate to the hospital.
The inmate was treated and returned to the holding center.
