ALBANY, N.Y. - Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill Thursday prohibiting anyone under the age of 18 from using indoor tanning facilities.

Under current law, children age 17 and over are permitted to use indoor tanning facilities without parental consent.

"By further limiting our children from exposing themselves to this health risk, we can stop the spread of preventable disease and help save lives," said Gov. Cuomo.

Children from 16 to 18 would need permission from a parents or guardian. Children under 16 are still banned altogether.
