BUFFALO, N.Y. -- There's a unique attraction planned for the new Explore & More Children's Museum at Canalside for car enthusiasts of all ages.
On Friday, West Herr Automotive Group and Explore & More Children's Museum announced a sponsorship to create an interactive, car-themed educational "play zone," at the new children's museum that will open at Canalside the second half of 2018. It will be called "Driving Buffalo's Dreams."
The play zone will allow visitors to create two-dimensional vehicle images that can be projected as three-dimensional images on a digitally landscaped wall of the Buffalo area.
A software called "Sketchtown," will make this possible. Visitors will be able to create vehicles out of paper and scan them into digital, 3D images that will appear on two walls that show a giant, whimsical Western New York landscape.
After seeing their paper vehicles projected in a 3D form, visitors will be able to print out a physical representation of their personalized vehicle that can be made three-dimensional.
“We are so grateful to West Herr for their generous support," said Explore & More CEO Douglas Love in an emailed statement. "Bringing this and all of the Museum’s experiences to a wider audience, to spark more imaginations and touch more lives, aligns so well with the missions and goals of both organizations.”
