BUFFALO, N.Y. —

Sunday's dreary and cold weather made it the perfect day for soup.

The 10th annual Buffalo Soup-Fest began at 11 a.m. at Riverworks on Ganson Street in Buffalo.

More than two dozen restaurants were on hand, serving 75 varieties of soup. There was also games and live shows to enjoy.

There were  two different sessions: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Soup was priced between $2 and $3 each. Admission was $5 at the door.

Empty Bowls also partnered with Soup-Fest for the seventh year.

Empty Bowls is a community event that encourages people to engage in conversations about social issues like hunger, poverty and homelessness.
