NORTH TONAWANDA, NY-- A billboard in North Tonawanda has some elected officials upset.

The billboard, which advertises a "lingerie and adult novelties" store located in Williamsville, is posted on Webster Street in 'downtown' North Tonawanda.

“This kind of advertising doesn’t belong in North Tonawanda,” said North Tonawanda Alderman-at-Large Jeff Glatz in a released statement. “We have worked hard to protect our city’s family-friendly atmosphere. We are calling on Lamar to remove this sign immediately.”

Niagara County Legislator Rich Andres also stated, “We’re in the midst of Canal Fest and tens of thousands of people are visiting our community and this is not what North Tonawanda wants as their first impression.”

2 On Your Side has emailed Lamar Advertising in Buffalo for a response to the request to take down the billboard. We will update the story when they respond.
