TOWN OF LANCASTER, N.Y. -- A man from Quebec is now charged in a deadly hit and run that happened last week in Lancaster.

Last Wednesday at around 11:50 p.m., police say 28-year-old Ryan Johns of Depew was hit and killed along Broadway near Pavement Road. Detectives said the driver left the scene.

Sebastien Y. Lavertu of Danville, Quebec is now charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident Resulting in Death.

Lancaster Police say they used video from several sources to identify the truck Lavertu was allegedly driving.

Lavertu was arrested when his damaged truck was seen crossing from the Quebec border into New York State at Lake Champlain, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
