Alnutt new Director of Athletics at UB

Mark Alnutt has been named Director of Athletics at the University of Buffalo.

BUFFALO, NY - The University of Buffalo has a new Athletic Director.

U.B. President Satish Tripathi announced Wednesday that Mark Alnutt will take over as athletic director, succeeding Allen Greene, effective April 11.

Alnutt was the Deputy Director of Athletics at the University of Memphis, a former Division I football player at the University of Missouri, and has nearly 18 years of experience in NCAA D1 Intercollegiate Athletics.

Greene accepted a position the Athletic Director position at Auburn in January.

Tripathi said in a released statement, “Throughout this national search, [Alnutt] demonstrated a keen understanding of the significant role a competitive athletics program plays in the overall success of a public institution of higher education and a clear commitment to ensuring the finest student-athlete experience through the core values of academic and competitive achievement [...] Mark is driven, innovative and thoughtful, and I have every confidence he will help the U.B. athletics program realize its full potential, competing with the very best in the nation.”
