In reversal, 43North calls off competition for 2020

43North has canceled its 2020 competition based on the "business and health environment of New York state," it announced Tuesday according to Buffalo Business First.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — 43North has canceled its 2020 competition based on the "business and health environment of New York state," it announced Tuesday.

This is the first time since the program debuted in 2014 that the state-funded competition won't welcome startups to Buffalo to pitch for cash awards, which they accept on the condition they operate from Buffalo for a year.

The competition "remains optimistic for a 2021 return," it said in the announcement.
