Suspect in NFTA bus station shooting identified

Buffalo Police are investigating a shooting inside the Ellicott Street bus station.

BUFFALO, NY — One person is in police custody after a shooting inside the Ellicott Street bus station Friday night.

It happened at the Metropolitan Transportation Center at 181 Ellicott Street at about 7:30 p.m.

Trevor Martin, 21 of Buffalo, was arrested Friday night and charged with first-degree assault. Martin is accused of shooting 21-year Devan Wright once in the chest after the two had an argument near the bathroom inside the bus terminal, according to NFTA spokeswoman Helen Tederous.

Wright is recovering at ECMC in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
