CLARENCE, NY-- A Bronx dentist with ties to Western New York is facing several child porn charges.

Gregg J. Riess, 27, is charged with Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance and Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child.

New York State Police say the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip in 2015 that a suspect was posing as a female to solicit a 13-year-old male victim from Texas to perform sexual acts on camera and send those images to the suspect.

The suspect was allegedly using a screen name of "Shanaosexy” or “Shanaoxexxyy” and used an image of woman to lure victims in.

Following an investigation, State Police investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Capen Boulevard in Amherst in April 2016 and arrested Riess in connection with the investigation. State Police say Riess flew to Western New York with his attorney this week and turned himself in to police Thursday.

Investigators believe there are more victims because they found other pornographic images and videos while searching his home. They are trying to identify who they are and where they are from.

A University at Buffalo spokesperson said Riess is a 2012 graduate of the UB School of Management and a 2016 graduate of the UB School of Dental Medicine. Riess was attending dental school during the investigation.

State Police do not believe Riess met any of his victims in person. They are trying to determine if any other potential victims are from the Buffalo area.
