CLARENCE, NY-- A Clarence mother is facing charges after she was arrested for allegedly driving while impaired by drugs with a child in the vehicle.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle Friday on Salt Road in Clarence for a vehicle and traffic violation. Upon investigation, a Drug Recognition Expert was called in to evaluate the driver.

Officials say the driver, Rebecca Goodman, 42, was impaired by drugs. She was arrested and charged with felony DWI under the Leandra's law. Police say she had her 10-year-old son in the vehicle. The child was turned over to his father.

Goodman was issued appearance tickets. She is expected to appear in Clarence Town Court at a later date.
