LANCASTER, NY--- The U.S. Border Patrol and Lancaster Police say they've tracked down an international gang member here in Western New York.

They say Savier Ayala, 30, was found to be illegally in the U.S. by Lancaster Police and turned over to Border Patrol.

Officials say Ayala was previously removed from the United States in 2010, and had a DWI conviction out of Wake County, North Carolina.

They say Ayala told them he joined the MS-13 gang when he was in North Carolina. MS-13 is known as one of the most organized and dangerous international gangs operating in this country.

Ayala told agents he re-entered the U.S. in Arizona in 2014. He is currently being held without bond, until his removal from the country.
