HOLLEY, NY-- A retired Brockport Police Department officer and Sweden winery/brewery owner who previously worked as a school security guard for hire has been charged with multiple counts of rape and other sex crimes for alleged sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl.
Adam Mesiti, 46, of Sweden was arrested on Friday by the Orleans County Sheriff's Office and charged with 10 counts of third-degree rape, 20 counts of third-degree criminal sexual act and 30 counts of sexual misconduct said Undersheriff Christopher M. Bourke.
Bourke said when the crimes allegedly took place in the fall of 2014, Mesiti worked for a private contracting company C.O.P. Security and had been assigned to work for three or four months at Holley High School in Orleans County.
He said the victim was a student at the high school and the crimes are alleged to have happened both inside and outside of the school.
Mesiti was arraigned on Friday in the Murray Town Court by Town Justice Theodore Spada Jr. Bail and bond were set at $25,000 and an order of protection was issued for the victim. Mesiti is scheduled to return to court again on March 22.
Bourke said a student at Holley High School who knew the victim recently notified school officials about what had happened. School officials contacted police.
Bourke said both C.O.P. Security and the Holley Central School District fully cooperated during the monthlong investigation.
Mesiti, with his wife Aimee Mesiti, own the Five Sons Winery and RG Brewing on West Sweden Road.
