GRAND ISLAND, NY-- A 15-year-old is facing several charges after he was arrested twice in a matter of hours on Grand Island.

Deputies were called to Regency Drive on Grand Island around 4:15 a.m. Thursday for a report of a car break-in. Officials say a 16-year-old male and 15-year-old male were located by deputies with items stolen from the victim's vehicle.

Both were charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, conspiracy and unlawful possession of personal ID. Deputies attempted to release the 16-year-old into the custody of his parents, but they refused and the teen was taken to the Erie County Holding Center on $200 bail.

The 15-year-old was issued appearance tickets and released to his father.

A few hours later, deputies were called to Tracey Lane for a report of a male entering vehicles. Deputies located the suspect running on Laurie Lane. Deputies detained the suspect and recognized him as the suspect in the earlier larcenies. The 15-year-old teen is facing additional charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. He is also facing a harassment charge for allegedly making physical contact with a vehicle owner.

Because of this age, deputies had to release the teen back into the custody of his father.
