Gas prices up $1 from last year's national average

The New York State average price is up 95 cents from the state's average price last year.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The national average price of gas is up a full dollar since last year, according to AAA.

In the state of New York, the average gas price is up 95 cents from last year and up one cent from last week to $3.21. The average price in Buffalo remains at $3.15. 

AAA expects that the price of gas will remain above $3 for the summer because of increased demand, lower stock and high crude prices.

Average gas prices in Western and Central New York are: 

  • Batavia - $3.21 (up two cents since last week)
  • Buffalo - $3.15 (no change since last week)
  • Ithaca - $3.20 (no change since last week)
  • Rochester - $3.20 (up one cent since last week)
  • Rome - $3.26 (up one cent since last week)
  • Syracuse - $3.19 (up one cent since last week)
  • Watertown - $3.23 (up one cent since last week)
