M&T Bank spending $32 million to give downtown buildings a facelift

Three downtown buildings owned by M&T Bank are getting upgrades.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — M&T Bank is investing $32.5 million to renovate and upgrade three downtown Buffalo buildings, including the bank's corporate headquarters.

The Buffalo bank is renovating the M&T Center/Fountain Plaza building; four of the five floors leased in the Lafayette Court Building; and the Main Street headquarters.

“We are doing things to help maintain the buildings,” said Keith Belanger, M&T Bank senior vice president. “It just so happens that we are doing three Main Street buildings at the same time."
