Lake Effect Ice Cream purchases building on Hertel

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The busy summer for Lake Effect Artisan Ice Cream continues with the Lockport specialty ice cream maker buying the Hertel Avenue building it has been leasing for the past three years.

Lake Effect, through its Lake Effect Canal Street LLC affiliate, paid $243,000 for the building at 1900 Hertel Avenue it had been leasing since opening in North Buffalo in 2017.

According to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's Office, the 62-year-old building, with just 858 square feet, had been owned by restaurateur Vasilis Panagopoulos, owner of Vasilis Express, which operated at the site for several years.  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
