LACKAWANNA, N.Y. — Calling it a "dream for Lackawanna,” Douglas Jemal has been named developer for a gateway Ridge Road parcel leading into the heart of the city’s business district.

The Lackawanna City Council named Jemal designated developer for the 1.25-acre, vacant parcel at 539 Ridge Rd. – the site of the former St. Barbara’s Church. The formal announcement is set for Sept. 21.

Jemal, who was one of three that responded to a development request for proposal issued by Lackawanna in January, is proposing a four-story, mixed-use building that carries a $35 million development price tag. It is one of the largest private-sector-backed developments in more than a generation for Lackawanna.  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website
