NFJC's 36th annual multi-faith Thanksgiving service

Western New York shows its neighborly love at multi-faith Thanksgiving service.

BUFFALO, N.Y. --Politics and religion may be some of the topics banned at your dinner table this Thanksgiving, but for some Western New Yorkers, religion was the main topic of discussion for their holiday "Table Talk".

The National Federation of Just Communities, NFJC and The Network of Religious Communities welcomed all cultural traditions to come together to give thanks Monday. Their 36th annual multi-faith service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Participants sang along to selections by the Buffalo Bells, listened to a vocal solo by Elon Gwan and joined together in a common prayer for world peace.

Baha'i, Buddhist, Hindu, Judaism, Islam, Native American and Sikh religions and cultures were all represented.

Each representative presented an offering of Thanksgiving, speaking commonly on the importance of positivity, healing and unity despite differences.

Participants also donated non-perishable foods to be distributed to those in need in Western New York.
