First Night Buffalo to include fun for kids in the hospital on New Year's Eve

The event started 31 years ago and is a way for families to ring in the new year together.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — New Year's Eve is just 27 days away, and once again Buffalo's going to have some family-friendly fun for folks at the convention center.

First Night Buffalo will be back for its 31st year with bounce houses, carnival rides and a dance party.

Western New York's viral sensation, The Singing Cops, will also be performing.

But this year, even kids at Oishei Children's Hospital will be included in the fun.

"The First Night team is bringing some of those incredible activities to the hospital for those kids who will be hospitalized on New Year's Eve, so that they can join in and can have safe fun with their families, and get a little resbit from what's happening in their life," said Allegra Jaros, president of Oishei Children's Hospital.

Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics will be back by popular demand this year too.

Kids will be able to meet Fernando the fox and Apollo, a Siberian lynx.
