Crews break ground on Buffalo Heritage Carousel at Canalside

When it's done, it will have dozens of horses and other animals that you can hop on in the summer for a dollar per ride.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The rain got in the way earlier in the week, but there was nothing but sunshine Friday as crews got started on the big new attraction coming to Canalside.

There, they broke ground on the new Buffalo Heritage Carousel.

It's going in right on the central wharf near Clinton's Dish snack stand, and when it's done, it will have dozens of horses and other animals that you can hop on in the summer for a dollar per ride.

"There's ostriches, and sea serpents, and chariots, and horses, and these artists are extraordinary. People from around the country are bringing their talents here, so I can't wait until spring," Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said.

You should be able to hop on and ride sometime next summer.
