Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The streak continues for the Chicago
Blackhawks.
Marian Hossa scored 1:44 into overtime to lift the Blackhawks over the
Edmonton Oilers, 3-2, on Monday.
Viktor Stalberg and Patrick Kane also scored for Chicago, which is riding an
NHL-record streak of 19 straight games to open the season with a point
(16-0-3), surpassing the previous record of 16 held by the 2006-07 Anaheim
Ducks.
Ray Emery made 17 saves for the Blackhawks, who have won six in a row. Chicago
also improved to 8-0-1 at home this season.
Jeff Petry and Nail Yakupov scored for the Oilers, who started a nine-game
road trip on Monday.
Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 31-of-34 shots in defeat.
